Every year we take our children and grandchildren on an overseas adventure holiday. We decided to try something closer to home because of Covid-19. ‘The Deck’ provided the eight of us with modern, clean and well appointed accommodation on one of the nicest beaches in Kangaroo Island. Island beach is close enough to Penneshaw and provides a great base to explore everything that Kangaroo Island has to offer. We highly recommend this property to other families.

It was our first time at Island Beach and The Deck was the perfect spot to spend the most unexpected glorious weather. The beach is perfect for long walks and bird watching as is sitting on the deck and observing the bird life in the trees and shrubs that surround the house. The house was extremely well appointed with uninterrupted views of the beach and also very quiet.

We had a fabulous stay at The Deck on Island Beach. The photos simply don’t do the house, the view or the location justice! The house is well designed for a family or group stay and is equipped with every possible item you could need for an enjoyable holiday. We loved spending afternoons on the deck, wine glass in hand, watching the dolphins feeding close to shore, or the friendly kangaroos literally metres away. We will definitely be back!

This house is phenomenal. Beautiful views and the beach is just a quick 2 minute walk. The design of the house is great and the bedrooms are separated from main living area which is great if you want a sleep in. We sat on the huge decking area in the evenings and we would have kangaroos and wallabies visiting just a few meters away !! Location is private and you can just enjoy a nice escape away from city life but with the comfort still. Highly recommend it! House would suit a big family or group as sleeps a lot of people. Rooms are also really spacious. Facilities are fantastic (washing powder and basic amenities provided) so you don’t have to pack anything like that. We will be back

Staying at the Deck has made our first family holiday in 10 years an absolute pleasure. We loved being such a short walk from the beach but still being elevated enough to enjoy a perfect view. Beds were comfy and clean and all other amenities were well cared for and up to date. Thanks also for the clear instructions and dining recommendations.

We love it here! You can see for miles. We saw dolphins close to the shore from the deck and raced down the driveway onto the beach, we got so close to them feeding, it was magical. There were kangaroos and wallabies in the garden and birds everywhere! Everything we needed was there and neat as a pin. For two families The Deck is perfect and halves the expense. Thank you for having us again
