The Deck is located just 14 kms from Penneshaw where you will arrive in your car off the ferry.

The Deck overlooks 5kms of white sandy beach perfect for swimming and beach play. Pelicans visit the beach regularly.

From the Ferry at Penneshaw

  1. Take the main road out of Penneshaw to Kingscote
  2. You will pass through Baudin Beach and Brown Beach
  3. Approx 3.5 km from Brown Beach there is a signpost to Island Beach. Turn right- dirt road.
  4. Aprox 3 km along this road [Island Beach Road] turn right into Penguin Street – dirt road [4th on right]
  5. Drive through the intersection [Borda Rd & Flinders Grove] to the beach
  6. Turn right. This is DuCouedic Drive
  7. The Deck is 200 metres down DuCouedic Drive. It is pale grey with blue trim and has a steep driveway with a garage on the left

From the Kingscote Airport

  1. Take the main Kingscote to Penneshaw Road
  2. Pass the main bitumen turn off to American River on your left [aprox ½ hour from Airport Road]
  3. The turn off to Island Beach is 14kms past the American River turn off
  4. Turn left at the Island Beach turn off just past Felt Hat Corner and follow the instructions 4-7 above.

Getting To Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island is 45 minutes by ferry from Cape Jervis [1 ½ hours from Adelaide] or a short 30 minute flight from Adelaide Airport. The Sealink ferry has four departures daily between Cape Jervis and Penneshaw KI.
