Island Beach faces north over Eastern Cove. It boasts a 5 kilometre sandy beach with safe swimming.  Pelicans, pied oyster catchers, sand pipers frequent the beach. If you love to fish, King George whiting, oysters, cockles sand crabs are caught in abundance in the bay and nearby American River.
